| it sucks to be a an indian in uganda...every time ugandans feel like punishing someone they ALWAYS get picked. when the economoy started going down in the 70's Idi Amin said it was thier fault and out they were kicked with nohing but the clothes on thier backs.....some 30 years later and they're back doing thier thing, minding thier business and the government decided selling our biggest forest is a good idea. the public is enraged. they attack and who do they attack? no, not the governemnt who had the brilliant idea....oh no they chose the south asian community simply becuase the forest is being sold o a company owned by an indian....http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6548107.stm.........i'm ashamed of my people.... | | |
| .......so now i'm up there with the poeple who do disappearing acts....sigh... well atleast i have a ton of xcuses. like i was in the village for christmas (read: getting internet almost impossible) then i got malaria, then i got a job and worked horrible hours and wasn't allowed internet access, then my job ended and i was running around looking for a new job, then i got malaria again, then my great grand mum (RIP) died so i was back in the village, then my babay nephew got malaria so i had to babysit while his mum went gallivanting off to rwanda .....yea, thats a good summary... ...its still hot. due to my malarial bouts and walking in this heat i've managed to darken and lose weight. hahaha, no one recognizes me anymore which is a good thing. the time wasted greeting people on the street in a week could come up to a like four hours n my own and half a day with my mum..... did i mention its hot? well it is.deodorant is a new handbag staple. like if i walk out of the house without putting it in, i'm required to go back, simple for the sake of humanity and my nostrils. i am so grarteful to the creator of deo...infact he is the closest thing to God, right after the dude who did the thing with electricity...... ...ok this entry is disorganizd, hopefully i'll be back on soon with my thoughts more in order... .... | | |
| hmmm, today is really hot. i'm going to guess soemwhere in the 100s and its not yet midday. i'm supposed to go get my sim card today. hopefully that will happen, most likely not.
i am bored, as in really realy bored. y new form of enternatinment is twidlllng my thumbs. its an art form. you sitin one place. set your fingers at a perfect 90deree angle from ur belly butoon, and then ttwidlle clockwise starting with the pinky and moving up....
i\m a week away from malaria i think.simply bcuase i have so many mosquito bites. its like they cant' get enough of my blood . i think it the mcdonalds i ate before we got here. its addictive. keeps people going back to mickeyd's and keeps the mosquitos coming back to me.
but i've managed to stay away from the kitchen. like my grandmother has been hinting and hinting but i just laugh and quickly chnage the subject. and yesterday i tired to get into the old trunk so i could look at my mum's photo albums from highschool but a gecko jumped on me so i cancelled that....eeew....they scare me....
